Paris Saint-Germain Overcomes Olympique de Marseille on Penalties to Lift Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.

Trophy celebration scene

The Parisian club has now claimed the prestigious trophy on 14 separate occasions.

Paris Saint-Germain required a stoppage-time leveler followed by a perfect penalty shootout to get past their arch-rivals in Kuwait and secure a fourth straight French Super Cup victory.

The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a straightforward win in the match between the French league winners and the French Cup holders after the French winger found the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side fired twice late to take a shock advantage. Initially, Mason Greenwood converted from the penalty spot, before the defender unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking turn of fortune, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital equaliser in the final seconds to force the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the hero, stopping crucial kicks from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and Desire Doue all converted with composure for PSG to complete a convincing shootout win.

The record champions Paris Saint-Germain, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the twelfth time in the past 13 years.
